Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Hadapsar, Pune 411028 is a leading institute in the education field of Ayurved in India. Established on 1st August 1990 as the Undergraduate course institute, the institute is well-spread having far-flung activities in U. G., P. G., and Diploma and Fellowship courses. It is joined with Maharashtra University of Health Science NASIK. This is an Ayurved Mahavidyalay & 250 bedded Hospital. The mother institute of our college is Maharashtra Arogya Mandal, Hadapsar, Pune founded by the visionary Late Dr. Dadasaheb alias S. T. Gujar who was the doctor of Indigenous system of Medicines (Ayurved) inspired by the thoughts and principles laid down by Late Sane Gurujee (the great legendary social leader from Maharashtra).
Dr Dadasaheb Gujar was the pioneer stalwart of Maharashtra Arogya Mandal who spearheaded the movement of Social activism on the fronts of Health, Education, Upliftment of Rural classes as well Tribal populations in Bhimashankar and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra from various angles and ultimately established the Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya with untiring efforts which are a grade I institute in India imparting the education of Ayurved on various levels.

News & Events
- As per the instructions, of MUHS University Anniversary Day was celebrated in the college premises on 10/06/2025. On this occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Sachinkumar S. Patil & teaching staff of various departments, non-teaching staff as well as UG and PG students were present.
- On occasion of MUHS University 27th Anniversary Celebration, National Unity Camp was organised from 20/05/2025 to 26/05/2025 at Bembala St. Joseph Outreach Center, Bangalore. Maharashtra’s Lokdhara was presented by MUHS Team. This team won the second prize. B. A. M. S. Student Ms. Vishakha Prashant Kolhe participated in this team. On the University Anniversary Day, 10/06/2025, the winning team was honored with a certificate and a trophy by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Lieutenant General Madhuri Kanitkar.
- The Department of Shalya tantra of the college organized a two-day guest lecture for clinical PG students from 12/06/2025 to 13/06/2025. The topic of the lecture was (Suture and Knot Tying) Sivan Karma, Yogya Vidhi Workshop. 80 PG students benefited from this programme. Dr. Vijay Pawar gave a lecture on the basic information, types, characteristics and its clinical applications of suture. Also, Lecturer of Shalyatantra Dr.Yogesh Narkhede gave a lecture on types of needles and their characteristics, HOD of Shalya tantra dept. Dr. Kamlakar Gajare provided hands-on training on suture techniques on suture models, Lecturer Dr. Sandeep Mali supervised the hands-on training session & Reader Dr. Rashmi Kale on knot tying, Dr. Kamlakar Gajare demonstrated and taught various techniques of knot tying to PG students.
- A lecture on the topic of Awareness & Importance of blood donation was organized on 16/06/2025. All the teachers, UG and PG students of the college participated in this lecture.
- Ganesh Nigade–Reader college of Pharmacy Saswad gave a lecture on the topic of “Analytical Excellence in Ayurveda: Emerging trends and Techniques” was organized on 14/06/2025 for PG students admitted in the academic year 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. All PG students of the college participated in this lecture.
